Climate
Bunaken is barely a degree above the equator and thus tropical. The "Rainy Season" from November to mid April, brings frequent rains, sometimes in storms lasting for several days, which make the air nice and cool but also reduce visibility. The "Dry Season" from May to October, when temperatures climb to 35° and visibility reaches a maximum. Bunaken receives far less rain than the mainland and is well ventilated with sea breezes.

Daytona beach

Vacationers have been flocking to the Daytona Beach area for more than a century. During the late 1800s, the area caught the attention and imagination of many wealthy northern tycoons who found the land favorable for investment.
One such mogul, Matthias Day, was the founding father of what was then called Daytona. He had built the first hotel, the Palmetto House, in 1874.
The trend continued with other entrepreneurs endeavoring to build a city of commerce and vision. Commodore Charles Burgoyne began by building a community center in Daytona Beach in the early 1900s. Burgoyne organized concerts along the riverfront actively promoting the town's events to travelers.
Later, John D. Rockefeller discovered Ormond Beach's immaculate golf courses and made his winter home at The Casements.
Daytona Beach not only inspired those who wanted to test the limits of speed, but also those who have desired to test the limits of society.
Daytona Beach's role in the history of civil rights is significant. On March 17, 1946, Jackie Robinson played in the first integrated spring training baseball game with the Montreal Royals, a farm team of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Later he became the first African-American to play in the Major Leagues. T

Automobile racing became a regular pastime along the hard-packed beaches at the turn of the 20th Century. Ormond Beach became known as the "birthplace of speed" due to the various land speed records set there. I
n 1947, the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing was founded in Daytona Beach. Motorsports gained new ground in 1959 with the opening of the Daytona International Speedway, which continues to satisfy hundreds of thousands of speed-hungry fans each year.

Besides the fantastic culture, sightseeing and dining on Portugese cuisine, the Portugal beaches hit top priority for many travelers. Also near Lagos is the Meia Praia which stretches for 6 long miles and is one of the favored beaches in Portugal. This is a great spot for families as there are lots of things to do for children such as shell collecting, sand castle building and investigating the interesting bits washed up onto shore.

When looking for more secluded beaches in Portugal Praia Figueiras is the ticket! It’s located on the route to Sagres and is a pristine, gorgeous bay that stays empty even in the busy season. There are no facilities at this Portugal beach but the main reason it stays fairly empty is because visitors have to park behind the village and walk for roughly 15 minutes to get there but it is worth the short trek.

To the western side of Carvoeiro lies the 60-mile-long beach of Praia do Carvalho. Extremely soft and sandy this Portugal beach is set right in the middle of a pair of cliffs and visitors drive through a neat tunnel to get to it.

There are also interesting footpaths and caves that were once used as hideouts by smugglers. To the west of the Portugal resort of Albufeira is Praia da Gale. Rarely too crowded, this Portugal beach has a marked swimming area making it great for the little ones. Windsurfing and water-skiing are also popular here.

One of the nicest beaches in Algarve is Praia do Alvor. It’s fantastic for beachside activities such as volleyball or frisbee. Sand dunes extend to the Algarve Cliffs and acres of wide open sand define the area. This Portugal beach has parking nearby and there are several restaurants available for meals.

When looking for a Portugal beach to suit your needs there should be several that will accommodate. There are such a great number of beaches in the country that it’s no surprise they are what mainly draws tourists to the region. The great thing is that it’s still possible to find a secluded and private Portugal beach which is not easily done in a lot of other beach resort destinations.

A beach is a geological landform along the shoreline of a body of water.

It usually consists of loose particles which are often composed of rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, or cobble.

The particles of which the beach is composed can sometimes instead have biological origins, such as shell fragments or coralline algae fragments.
Beaches often occur along coastal areas, where wave or current action deposits and reworks sediments.
Although the seashore is most commonly associated with the word "beach", beaches are not only found by the ocean: beaches also occur at the margin of the land along lakes and rivers where sediments are reworked or deposited

-small system in which the rock material moves onshore, offshore, or alongshore by the forces of waves and currents; or
-geological units of considerable size.

The former are described in detail below; the larger geological units are discussed elsewhere under bars.
There are several conspicuous parts to a beach, all of which relate to the processes that form and shape it. The part mostly above water (depending upon tide), and more or less actively influenced by the waves at some point in the tide, is termed the beach berm.

The berm is the deposit of material comprising the active shoreline. The berm has a crest (top) and a face — the latter being the slope leading down towards the water from the crest. At the very bottom of the face, there may be a trough, and further seaward one or more longshore bars: slightly raised, underwater embankments formed where the waves first start to break.
The sand deposit may extend well inland from the berm crest, where there may be evidence of one or more older crests (the storm beach) resulting from very large storm waves and beyond the influence of the normal waves.

At some point the influence of the waves (even storm waves) on the material comprising the beach stops, and if the particles are small enough (sand size or smaller), winds shape the feature. Where wind is the force distributing the grains inland, the deposit behind the beach becomes a dune.
These geomorphic features compose what is called the beach profile. The beach profile changes seasonally due to the change in wave energy experienced during summer and winter months. The beach profile is higher during the summer due to the gentle wave action during this season. The lower energy waves deposit sediment on the beach berm and dune, adding to the beach profile. Conversely, the beach profile is lower in the winter due to the increased wave energy associated with storms.

Higher energy waves erode sediment from the beach berm and dune, and deposit it off shore, forming longshore bars. The removal of sediment from the beach berm and dune decreases the beach profile.

The line between beach and dune is difficult to define in the field. Over any significant period of time, sand is always being exchanged between them. The drift line (the high point of material deposited by waves) is one potential demarcation. This would be the point at which significant wind movement of sand could occur, since the normal waves do not wet the sand beyond this area. However, the drift line is likely to move inland under assault by storm waves.

Leisure or free time,

is a period of time spent out of work and essential domestic activity. It is also the period of recreational and discretionary time before or after compulsory activities such as eating and sleeping, going to work or running a business, attending school and doing homework, household chores, and day-to-day stress.

The distinction between leisure and compulsory activities is loosely applied, i.e. people sometimes do work-oriented tasks for pleasure as well as for long-term utility.
For an experience to qualify as leisure,

it must meet three criteria:

1) The experience is a state of mind.

2) It must be entered into voluntarily.

3) It must be intrinsically motivating of its own merit. (Neulinger, 1981)

The word leisure comes from the Latin word licere, meaning “to be permitted” or “to be free,” via Old French leisir, and first appeared in the early fourteenth century.

The notions of leisure and leisure time are thought to have emerged in Victorian Britain in the late nineteenth century, late in the Industrial Revolution.

Early factories required workers to perform long shifts, often up to eighteen hours per day, with only Sundays off work. By the 1870s though, more efficient machinery and the emergence of trade unions resulted in decreases in working hours per day, and allowed industrialists to give their workers Saturdays as well as Sundays off work.
Affordable and reliable transport in the form of railways allowed urban workers to travel on their days off, with the first package holidays to seaside resorts appearing in the 1870s, a trend which spread to industrial nations in Europe and North America. As workers channeled their wages into leisure activities, the modern entertainment industry emerged in industrialized nations, catering to entertain workers on their days off. This Victorian concept—the weekend—heralded the beginning of leisure time as it is known today.

Types of leisure

Active leisure activities involve the exertion of physical or mental energy. Low-impact physical activities include walking and yoga, which expend little energy and have little contact or competition. High-impact activities such as kick-boxing and soccer consume much energy and are competitive. Some active leisure activities involve almost no physical activity, but do require a substantial mental effort, such as playing chess or painting a picture. Active leisure and recreation overlap significantly.
Passive leisure activities are those in which a person does not exert any significant physical or mental energy, such as going to the cinema, watching television, or gambling on slot machines.

Some leisure experts discourage these types of leisure activity, on the grounds that they do not provide the benefits offered by active leisure activities. For example, acting in a community drama (an active leisure activity) could build a person's skills or self-confidence.
